» Poem: Coming Forth
Coming Forth
written by IceBound

It's already been a year, and still
these figures call my name
i don't want to go back to that game
sealed in a bag, these memories fighting
they've found a way, they leak now back into my brain
into my thoughts, bringing back the pain
of days long past, this hatred i can't sustain
these skeletons in my closet i cannot tame
they're opening the door, breaking my barrier
they've brought back the anger, brought back the blame
was once two thoughts, they came together
it's all coming into frame
why do they do this?
tormenting me, wanting me to be the same
i'm fighting back, but they're too strong
i've fallen to the ground...
there's no where to go now...
no one to run to...
this one's all on me, it doesn't concern you
knowing my faults, i see this figure in the darkness
it's me, protecting my light within...a scarlet hue
seemingly true, i once heard that,
"...those who forget the past are doomed to repeat it..."
only a fool could believe such small words...
well fuck that! call me what you wish!
call me a fool! you'll never break me!
...if i can't live through my past...nor forget it...
then with her helping hand, i will learn to accept it

That just summed up my life. The past is unforgettable, and its always there whether you want it or not. the past sucks, but your poem rocked.
