» Poem: you don't understand
you don't understand
written by darktinkerbell

you don't understand me
you don't really know me...
you don't even try
you just want to believe
I'm always going to be this
little innocent girl
it scares you to know I'm growing up
you still want me to be 8
so I can be mommy's little girl
I don't think you realized I'm 16
up until today
by just a kiss on the lips from my boyfriend
I tried to be mature about this
I didn't hide the fact
that I have a boyfriend
from you
but, you're the one being childish
you want me to go back to
my "care free childhood days"
you really don't realize
I never had those days
I was too busy getting beat
by my brother
that I could never hit back
cause of his disibility
all you want is for me to
never grow up
even though you know...
you gotta let me go
I gotta live my life
you gotta let me
make my own mistakes
you gotta realize
I have a boyfriend
I think I'm old enough
and ready to have one
I wouldn't have told you
if I didn't think he was good enough
but he really is
I hope you can be mature about this
even though I know
you don't understand
