» Poem: Misery
Misery

Misery
is eating away at you
slowly
you're not fighting it
I don't know why
you're letting it consume you
It's killing you inside
I can see that
but, I don't think
you want my help
as you've said you did before
misery's making it as though
you want to be alone
never to be bothered
and now I feel I've become
someone you don't want
to be bothered by
you're pushing me away,
whether you think so
or not
I feel almost invisible
in your eyes
like you've put me
as another face in
the crowd
feeling this way
has made me almost
slip and fall in to misery
as well
but, I held on
to all the people
I would've hurt
if I did so
I'm fighting it
and you know what, babe?
I'm winning
I'm winning cause I know
both of us losing
is not gonna help
either one of us
to get farther away from this
I feel I gotta be strong
for the both of us
There is no way misery is
going to take me down
and with me around
there's no way it's gonna
take you down either
love conquers all
and since I'm the strong one right now
I swear,
my love will defeat
your misery
