Sometimes I lay in the corner of my room,
Just trying to get through the night,
It's dark in here with the door and curtains closed,
But there's still a little light.
The wall I lay against seems so cold, hard and uncaring,
So I just imagine looking into your eyes,
And somehow the smile in your face,
Get's me through the night with no cries.
My head rests against the wall,
But I just can't seem to fall asleep,
And as the darkness surrounds my mind,
I try so hard not to weep.
I imagine you just lying in my arms,
Nodding off to sleep as I kiss you sweet,
But when day comes you disappear,
And I just wait for us to meet.
The night drags on when you've nothing to do,
But opening your eyes and shaking so hard,
The cold seems so harsh and uncaring,
But then I read that card.
I see your smile it brings me warmth,
And I make it through alone,
But somehow I feel you there,
And I wish that I could phone.
I know your number it's tattooed in my heart,
But laying still and seeing your face is just enough,
Living through these cold hard nights,
Seems so brash, so tough. |
