semper fi

to a marine, a future marine,
or a former marine
Semper Fideles,
Always Faithful
I am a future marine
I am going to be a
protector of my country
and I will die if I have to
to defend my duties.
I will never give up on anything
just because it's too hard
I know nothing of pain,
once I sign that paper
when the own me
pain is weakness
leaving the body.
And if I end up in war
pain is the last thing
that would be on my mind
all I'd be able to hear is
bullets barely buzzing passed my ear
and the adrenaline rush
of knowing I just killed the enemy
or that I could easily die in a second
all I could hear is the clinking
of my dog tags
as I run for cover
I am going to be a marine
and I will never give information
to the enemy...If I am taken
I will rather die that tell them anything
because I am a well-oiled machine
that only does what is told.
