» Poem: Past
Past

As she scratches her eye, the street lights catch occasional glimpses of her, as they drive down the abandoned road. The car is filled with the stench of pot and cigarettes. She cracks the window open to try to breath. But this doesn't aid in her suffocation from herself. She turns the volume dial up as she grabs the blunt with her other free hand. She takes a few hits, and instantly feel the tension lesson. She is disgusted and mortified by the people she is with, but with the life she chose these are the only people who will talk to her. The guy next to her, who is driving, caresses her thigh and invites her to spend the night with him. She declines and he instantly turns aggressive. He insists she sit closer to him. She doesn't think much of it and moves over. He begins to gently rub his fingers over her backside. She begins to feel uncomfortable and quickly returns to her side of the car. Once again he becomes aggressive. Except for now he is more forceful, pleading her to stay with him for the night. He grabs her arm tightly as he pulls her over toward him....
