night shift
written by izzzy09:37 AM 11/16/04Setting the sun behind the cloud
as I lay it there to bed
Pulling the moon up from the ground
Resurecting it like the dead
Setting light upon the world
casting it there in the shadows
And placing it there in the stocks
to have it's head chopped off in the gallows
Spilt and oozing as it dies
and the sun begins to rise
I think the warmth of the suns fires
beats the moon as it dies |

The cycle of the moon and the sun have been facinated by people of differing cultures for millenia. I thought it might be cool. Oh and I became a vassal today. [ View izzzy's Profile ] [ Go to the Poetry Portal ] This Poem has been viewed 414 times
