» Poem: EXIT: worry
EXIT: worry
written by IceBound
03:26 AM 11/17/04
why worry?
the world will keep spinning
it's good to know that this is out of my hands
an uncertain future
i'm in a blackout world with one light
and it's getting brighter by the day
i made my choice
so much to leave behind
and yet so little
running down the hall i remembered
how it looked that day
you have to believe i tried
i'm not one to give in
ones of faith
questions in my heart
and i say,
"Today, this hour, i leave this world"
with out the light i found the door
glowing in four letters,
EXIT
he who sees not things as they are
left in and out
unburden my soul
the sign disappears
nothing but silence
and under the blown out EXIT sign
there you stand
an out-stretched hand
scarred with pain
yet open in relief
i now understand
coming here, all was clear, no doubt about it
now leaving, all is clear, without a doubt
I love you
the sky now cracks and falls
my legs have carried me here
to that edge
now on my ground
remember the fall
how good it felt to scream
feeling in my stomach
and all the way down...
i was with you
so why worry?
