Aspects of Me

The longest of roads in life
Never allowed to settle here or there
Searching for a place to call home
Thrown out to become an outcast
Never wanted cause I don’t fit in
A difference inside they don’t like
A life long search for acceptance
Fighting always as a warrior
Life’s a constant battle for me
Never allowed to drop my guard
Eternally looking for peace
Suffering as the abused child
Beaten because of my birth
My existence they can’t stand
Just wanting the pain to stop
Knowing everyone’s pain, empathic
Constantly feeling their sorrows
Always carrying their burdens
Wanting to help all I can
Crying as the broken man
Given up because of all the pain
Fallen to loss and betrayal
Finally I have given up…. |
