» Poem: Burden
Burden
written by Morning Star
05:25 PM 11/17/04
Sometimes I wish I were dead and blind
Never to see the pain of this world again
No longer hearing the cries of those in need
Always falling down from the weight of the world
The burden keeping me on my knees
Many times have I fallen
Yet each time I stand with pride and move on
Helping others is my penance
For past deeds never to be undone
A need to feel wanted drives me
Their burdens are all that keeps me
Now it’s become to much to bear
Yet I cannot find the will to stop
Afraid of what they will say
The fear of losing those close to me
My soul cannot bear more loss
But my shoulders can hold no more
Lost with no idea what to do
Shall I continue with my burden
Forever to go until I fall
Once more but never to stand again…
