» Poem: Voices
Voices
written by twistedmind33

Voices of my past whisper to me
They tell me things people say aren't true
Who am I to believe?
What am I to do?
Should I leave everyone behind?
Start a new life?
in a whole new world?
They're calling my name
They sound so real
How can I make them stop?
Do I really want them to?
They give me meaning
They make me feel
Pain is an emotion
Not a sin
They live inside of us
They never go away
They keep haunting you until you let go
Lurking in the shadows of your mind
Consuming you bit by bit
Until you're nothing
Just like before
