» Poem: Last Words
Last Words

Some sounds slip from my lips
Clear not mumbled, crisp not blurred
I touch your fingers just on the tips
And those sounds formed some words

As you fell silent and shed a solitary tear
Wishing I would come back from the pain of yesteryear
Whispers from my mouth as I lay there on the bed
Blood infuzed by the drip, bandages on my head

Gashes all over my body and punctures wanting to be healed
Positioned by my bedside, and to be closer to me you kneeled
"Read" I said as I pointed to a card and cried
Knowing that to speak would be all too hard, I died

He read 'My sweet loving heart is broken
Because I can no longer be here
Take my heart as a token
of my love, my dear
I love you with all my heart, my soul and mind
I love you best of all out of the entire mankind
I want you to be happy till the end of your days
I want it to be joyous not a cloudy haze
I say it here because I am gone
That I love you all night long
I want you to stay true
I love you'

Later on I noticed that he had another girl
Her hair as strawberry as a swirl
I cried because he never stayed true
He never replied "I love you"
My last words

Is this to die for? A person does when their partner cheats on them when they go away. It is just too low for words.
