story of rape and suicide

you or i, when
she committed suicide.
you wouldnt be able to tell
unless you knew her well.
at school, she seemed
happy, cheerful and well,
but once she got home
her happy school life died.
it was the same routine everyday
since she was five.
as soon as she walked in the door,
her drunken father would
strip her of all her clothes
and beat her frail body
until it was black, blue and bruised.
if she was ever late getting home,
she was beat ten times worse.
often suffering broken bones and
other injuries, but never taken
to a hospital for fear of getting caught.
after all the beatings were over,
she was raped and tortured some more.
then she would run to her room
and cry her eyes out,
only to remember that
the same would happen
again the next day and would never end.
her mother would have tried to save her,
if she wasnt so powerless against
her husband's drunken rage.
for years the same thing
happened to her, and
you can still see the burns, bruises and scars
all over her fragile body.
one night, while her mother and father were still
asleep,
she got fed up and didnt know what to do.
she walked to the kitchen
and pulled out a knife
and dragged it across her wrist.
deeper and deeper until blood poured out
did she cut her veins.
she opened another drawer to find a loaded gun.
picking it up and pointing it to her head
she pulled the trigger and fell to the floor
because she was dead.
the next morning,
her mother awoke to find her daughter's
lifeless body thrown across the kitchen floor.
she started yelling and crying
realizing what she had to do.
she picked up the gun that
lay next to her daughter
and went upstairs to where her husband slept.
she pointed the gun at her husband's heart,
"you shall never do this again" she said
as she pulled the trigger.
then she turned the gun to her head
and pulled the trigger
and now they're all dead. |
