Where My Sins Now Rest
written by TheDerangedSage10:06 PM 11/19/04The sorrow of selfish desire pours over
in a drenching rain of formidable regret,
as insecure jealousy washes me impure.
Cold is the doubt pulling me in and below.
Down through the dirty paned glass
I see the grassy land slope to the murk,
a filthy flood now my welcoming grave.
The earth moves over in brown water.
From beneath a distorted, disillusioned
mirror the windows stare blankly, unfixed,
a haunting, empty dark drowning me within.
Lonely fear is a burdened weight, anchoring.
There is peace found in the forlorn black
as I spread arms out and give-in my soul,
the shadows then converging like the waves.
Soon not a ripple will stir this placid river. |
