» Poem: Over The Fence
Over The Fence
written by KellyLeeWannaBe
08:24 PM 6/9/04
Over the fence I see people crying
People loving and missing their families
Fleeing and rushing over to see them be taken away
A little girl cries for her mommy
while another sits and weeps

Over the fence I see people running
Running away from the guard that will soon take them away
Away they will go and never come back
and there they will stay

Over the fence I smell somethign putrid
My big brothers say it's the smell of burning flesh
while my mother cries when I ask her what it is

Over the fence I see people screaming
Telling their loved ones how much they care
and saying their last goodbyes

Though I am only a small child
and wonder what is happening
I feel sad and start to cry
Wishing there was something I could do to help
