Holy Dreams pt4

Rolling over to face, once again, the door on the roof, Asta gripped the generic hospital blanket and tried to warm her frozen fingers. Surrendered to her own loneliness, she lay stilled, mulling all the unanswered questions in her head, jumbling them over and over until they came rocketing into one realisation. She needed to help the young boy.

She closed her eyes and willed herself to get up off the floor, she needed to help the boy and she wasn’t able to do it here in this room. The room which was as generic as the hospital blanket. Sheer determination befell her as she opened her crystallic grey eyes to get up, perching herself on one hand and bracing herself on the wall behing to get up.

Looking down made Asta feel uneasy. She gazed at her own body, her eyes were closed, hands still gripping the blanket so as to warm her fingers, which she rubbed and breathed into at that very moment. Her raven hair lay dull around her own face, even though it framed it so delicately. From where she was standing looking down at her own self she didn’t look that well. It was the dreams that she couldn’t control, that were making her this way. She was so thin, she hadn’t eaten in days or weeks, she couldn’t remember.

‘This is what it was like to have an outer body experience.’ Asta thought.
‘It’s funny; it doesn’t feel any different to real life’
