Love

it does not envy, it does not boast,
it is not proud. It is not rude,
it is not self-seeking.
it is not easily angered, it keeps
no record of wrongs. Love does not
delight in evil, but rejoices in the truth,
it always protects, always trusts,
always hopes, always preserves,
love never fails. time is too slow
for those who wait, too swift for
those who fear, too long for those
who grieve, too short for those
who rejoice, but for those who love,
time is eternity. we are not the same
persons this year as last; it is a happy
change if we, changing, continue to love
a changed person, the greatest tradgedy
of life is not that men perish, but that
they cease to love. Love is the irrisistable
desire, to be irrisitably desired. It does not
make the world go round, it makes the ride
worth while. It is to recieve a glimpse of heaven.
with love, the face is the mirror of the mind
and eyes without speaking,
confess the secrets of the heart |
