Race Back Home

“Hello?”
“Hi Leanne it’s mom.”
“What’s wrong?” She had a weird tone, so I knew something was up.
“Peter’s mom has been shot.”
“What?!”
“Get here now Leanne.”
“Kay. Be there.”
I hung up the phone and told Melissa and Ashley that I couldn’t bring them home because something bad had happened. I grabbed Peter and without explaining got into my car. We sped off, Peter confused, and me freaking out. Life was now turning wrong, and it would never be the same for Peter, and I would have the guilt on me because I took Peter away from his house, right before… I didn’t even want to think about that. I just hoped that Peter’s mom was going to be all right.
