“Yeah sure.” I ran up the stairs. I slipped in my Blink182 CD as I got the guestroom together. About five minutes later I was slipping the sheets under the pillow, and singing along with some of the words.
“This place is never the same again after you came and went how can you say you meant anything different to anyone standing alone on the street with the cigarette on the first night we met.” I sang from the song Feeling This.
“Look to the past and remember her smile and maybe tonight I can breath for a while I’m not in the scene I think I’m falling asleep, but then all that it means, is I’ll always be dreaming of you!” This time Peter’s voice joined mine.
“Oh sorry, I didn’t hear you come in. I was just getting the sheets on this um bed…” I was talking and making almost no sense at all.
“You like Blink182 too?”
“Yeah they are my favorite band. This song is one of my favorites too.” I flipped it to the song I Miss You. The song flooded the room, and we sang to it as we finished the room. We were both keeping the subject of why Peter was here in the first place away. I knew that this whole thing was going to become even worse, it was just a bad feeling, but I came to trust my feelings. Nothing that happened now would be much of a surprise. |
