» Poem: Slicing Flesh
Slicing Flesh
written by TAINTEDSOULisBACK
06:45 AM 11/28/04
The cold blade
cuts like the wind
slicing flesh
like blades of grass
seperating
on a windy day
during fall.
I say please,
cease
and desist.
But you just ask
why?
And I am speechless.
I say
I love you
and you return
the phrase,
but I wonder
if you mean it
because you torture
me so.
"I am going to stab myself,
ok?"
Please don't,
I beg
in the background
so softly
that you ask if I'm tired,
ignoring the knife blade
for merely
a second.
But I like to think
it's a second more
that you're living,
and it might be thanks
to me.
