» Poem: Just Another Girl
Just Another Girl
written by darktinkerbell

you look at me and see
another face in the crowd,
one of the many you see
when you walk down the street
you never take the time to think
about how my life is,
you're too busy with yours.
when you look at me,
do you see how many times
my heart's been broken?
or many times I've cried
inside and out?
or do see just another girl
with black clothes,
and assume,
I must be a depressed bitch
who doesn't have many friends?
did you ever think, black isn't
the only color I wear?
no, just because
I wear all black
with thick eyeliner one day
I must wear it all the time
I'm just another face in the crowd
if that face even gets noticed,
and being just another girl,
is fine with me,
to just fade into the background,
hardly ever being noticed,
still just another girl
but someone lifted me
out of the shadows,
and showed me I can be noticed
my face can stand out,
even when I think I'm just another girl,
there are people who are watching
and see that I'm more than that,
and I know that at least in your eyes,
I'm more than just another girl,
and as long as I stay that way
just as long as your eyes are still
amazed by me, I'm happy, just being
another girl to everyone else

was it really me who changed your way of thinking? or just you breaking from what isn't really there? look deeper than a single thought, it's there, me in the clearing...
