Open Your Eyes (to all the girls)

so much through so little words
thank you for making me see
how much of a fool, I am,
trying to be everything I'm not
just to please myself,
as well as others.
thank you for somehow understanding
although, I don't even know your name.
that poem hit close to me,
and you'll never know, how much
it really changed me. No matter how hard
I try to deny it, I care what others think.
is my eyeliner too thick?
do they hate me?
do they like me?
are they laughing at me
everytime they laugh?
now I see what I'm doing to myself,
I'm giving in to what they all want,
all the "pretty girls"
and "hot guys"
that think they're too good for everyone
I was blinded, now this light is shining upon me
showing me, what I need to do,
to break this chain,
to shine the light on all the other people
that are blinded, I will show them
that I was blinded once,
and it's not worth it all
give up this stupid act of pretending not to care
cause you do, and there's no need for all that
because all of you
are beautiful, in every way |
