Love Stays With You
written by annachibi05:47 AM 6/13/04Child of mine, the day has come.
Although I'd hoped you'd follow me home,
Fate must make me let you go.
My finger in your tiny fist
Is something I will sorely miss,
An aching ember in my soul.
For so long, we were as one
In the same body; now -- undone.
The bond is strong between us, though.
Part of me is there, in you,
As I watch your perfect lips turn blue.
I hope that you will always know
Love stays with you when you die.
Don't worry if you see Mommy cry;
I just have lots of love to show. |

May 13th, 2004. Okay, okay, I have never experienced losing a child, or having one, for that matter. However, expressing things I've never experienced is a mysterious ability of mine. I wrote several poems from perspectives that were not my own on May 13th; don't really know why. I just felt inspired. I have to say, it came out quite beautifully.
