Almost a Year

you let go first...
I swear it was you.
You were the one who gave up
so soon.
Long distance isn't my thing either,
but we still tried,
for almost a year.
Almost a year we lasted,
what made us so strong
is still hidden in our blood.
I left you to keep us safe,
but you moved on so fast.
I didn't plan on that,
you didn't either.
I'm just glad,
that you were happy again.
Even though I was drenched in pain,
I looked ahead and decided...
I should've moved on too.
I did,
and your great girlfriend dumped you...
for being you.
You,
the guy that always made me laugh
in every stupid way.
Forgetting that your girlfriend and I were different,
she caught you in the act of
releasing gas.
The thing that always made me laugh.
She broke up with you for
being yourself...
something I would never have done.
But it's too late now.
Like I said before,
and what you wanted me to do.
I now have a wonderful boyfriend
comforting me like how you used to.
You send the same messege I sent you here.
You say I was the one who let go and fled in fear.
Yes you're right.
It was fear.
I did let go because of fear.
Fear of your parents.
Looking at me with malicious eyes.
Well I'm sorry.
Here's my apology.
Please forgive me.
Though it's too late for us,
I'm still sorry.
