Staring in the Mirror

Staring in the mirror, with dripping wet hair.
Looking at myself, wondering what to wear.
Thinking about how it all used to be.
It's been a challenge; it's not been easy,
But now my reflection serves to please me.

I've climbed up the ladder from that dark twisted place.
The rest of the world I now can face.
I've seen the light at the end of the tunnel
Life no longer is a struggle.

Happy and free, I'm my self at last.
I can now accept what's in the past.
I was so down I was so desolate,
I never thought I could return.
But here I am, the true me
I have a life, no longer just existence

Should you find yourself in such a state?
To these words please relate,
If you're feeling sad and low
Remember you're not alone
There's always someone who will listen
Get some help, tell a friend
There is a light at the end.
