Let me say...

they turn, ever so lightly, slower and slower
with each passing second, i'm wanting you more and more
feel the air as it passes through my empty arms
you're missing, though i know where you are
you feel lost to me, never to be found, i'm searching
looking in all the familiar places, not her, not there
i miss you more than i should, but not enough
i long for the moment when you're in my arms again
what was truly never found was your heart
i thought it was there, within my grasp
it never occurred to me, never spun my thoughts
i should have known i was looking through a glass
your heart encased behind this glass, i can't reach
i've made it to the core, but not out of my own dealings
i know how much the lies hurt, and only they pass the glass
piercing your heart, no more! I've taken this step with you
i've made it this far now, the getting brighter by the day
and all this accomplished, with you
i don't dare ask anything else of you
but this, i fear, is our last hope
our last serenade, it's time to set this world ablaze
all i ask is that you give me another way
i know i can't just walk into your heart
it's by invitation only, and very few are on your list
i want to get my name next to yours, ALWAYS FOREVER
i'm ready once more to show, and now i know
above all thing, sorry for doubting, you are ready too
only you can let me in, i'm knocking, i'm here
are we still falling together? TRUST
doubt that us having faith makes any sense? MY
will i be able to say... LOVE
trust is what i ask, but do not expect it to be given
i know what's at stake and what lies beyond
this unfinished fight inside is coming to an end
i don't expect it, but i do want you to at least
understand that i'm not like any other guy
thinking they can 'hook' a girl by dropping the big 'L' word
and don't want to go down that path
i think i'm ready but not quite sure
then again, who is really?
Just your touch, your eyes, your kiss, your heart...
reassurance is born again
give me the chance...
let me say... |
