"Depression's A Destination

the road you think you walk alone,
you must be blind if you can't see,
that walking along beside you,
is me,
...and millions of others
who have a surplus of pain.
you think you're the only one soaked
when it happens to rain?
You think you're the only one caught in the flood?
That you're the only one trying to erase spilt blood?
No.
So stand in line and fill your prescription,
stock up on chemical happiness.
Is the world so screwed up,
Valium is the only bliss?
What about your first kiss?
What about walking in the rain?
Reading a book full of pleasure and pain?
Singing a song full of hope and rejoice?
See, what's wrong is that you see only one choice.
You surrender to pain and let it take lead.
Depression's a destination,
and life is your steed.
And if you decide that this is your course,
you pussy out half way and kill your horse.
So why not make contentment where you head?
and make compromise your ground,
on which you tread? |

This is about the stupidity of suicide. Of course it is written by someone who once condoned it... but None the less, I'm converted now, so do as I say, not as I used to do? Does that sound right? I don't know.. anyway, please comment and check out the rest of my poetry.
