away on the moon, oh so far away
longing to be one with the world below,
to feel the soft earth, and there i would stay-
living in sunlight and not in shadow.
to wake up each morn, and see the bright dawn,
at night remember from which that i came-
the moon in the sky, that i once lived on,
and since not have yet to feel near the same,
because days lived in dusk, are much like night-
both so bleak, so dark, and forever cold-
the warm kiss of the sun, rids of the fright,
and chases the dying out of the old.
forever in rays, of eternal bliss-
untill the sun fades, the days i shall miss. |
