letting go

Waiting for you to come back to me!
Maybe at last I'm realizing that you're not.
And I'm finding out that you're not the one I'm meant to
be with anyway.
You were never really mine when I thought you were after all.
Now, I believe I'm ready to let go.
Not just in my heart but in my soul.
Not so much that I'll forget you, I could never allow that to
happen.
You were the first person I ever let inside myself.
You were the first person I ever gave myself to and loved.
I'm letting go so that someday I'll find the person that
I'll be with for the rest of my life.
I hope that you'll be happy for me as I will be for you when that
happens.
And when it does, I hope then that we will both realize that everything
happens for a reason.
As painful as it may seem.
