corruption of a gift

I poured it on the floor
I thought it would make them happy
and cut the daily bore
Soon they grew excited
and they raised their lil claws
A territory for each
and guarded with great cause
yet the catnip grew so sparce
they sought to own it all
So the fighting grew as well
t'was now an all out brawl
It took not long of war
when they lost all sight of mirth
These cats received a gift
made irony of its worth |

Yay! I found it.
This it the poem that I wrote when I shut the forums down for half a day.
Then I lost the poem.

Anyway, If you think "greed" and "envy" are human phenomenon, I must tell you that this poem really was inspired by two events in my life happening on the same day. It was a day in which I shut off the forums on this site due to in-fighting, power-seeking, and general anarchy, and when I gave some catnip to cats and watched them slowly turn to fighting over it.
