» Poem: ice
ice
written by devilchild01

The lake is thin today
an uncertain glass
sighing beneath my pressure.

Too easy to shatter
with a well-placed fist.

But she was out there
from the dawn,
cutting the snow from the surface
in clear and beautiful lines.

Whilst I, hazed,
couldn't see her for the trees,
afraid to set my foot
on the ice.
