» Poem: At the Edge |
At the Edge
written by blood_fang04:21 PM 12/10/04When I was running and filled with pain
For reasons unknown to you,
I ran to the edge and looked over it.
Down into a fissure of blackness.
Just when I let myself fall,
You caught me and dragged me back up
And looked into my confused eyes with your sad ones.
"Please, don't be stupid. Don't kill yourself"
And without expecting a "thank you"
You carried the sobbing me back to stable ground.
And I screamed and cursed you all the way.
But when you were at the edge,
And let yourself fall,
I had caught you and pulled you back up.
I looked into your confused eyes with my sad ones
And said those same damn words.
"Please, don't be stupid. Don't kill yourself"
And without expecting a "thank you"
I carried the sobbing you back to stable ground.
And you screamed and cursed me all the way. |
