» Poem: Chained
Chained
written by blood_fang

There's a pillar of torture I'm chained to
Hanging loose but unable to break free.

Every time I try to escape out the window
Paradise so close; can almost touch it.
I trip over the chains that link my ankles
And fall on my face on the dungeon floor.

The others dwell
In this place worse than Hell.
They keep telling me it's good to stay
And they keep asking me why
I want to die.

What's wrong with me?
I just wanna be free.
I just wanna jump out the window
Even if there's nothing but a moat outside
Let me just sink forever.

Instead of hanging helplessly by the chain
Dangling forever
Trapped between death and pain
With nowhere else to go.
