Wonder

wondering where and how you are
I know you’re out there wandering free
I wonder if you’re thinking of me
as you sit alone with nothing to do
do you ever wonder if I think of you?
all day all night all weekend long
wondering how you carry on
I wonder how you sleep at night
without me there to hold you tight
just as soon as I forget
you return and it’s all reset
the love we once shared so true
the feeling I felt when I still loved you
although we know it can never be
wondering if you still love me
then when I think I don’t care at all
I start again each time you call
so much time passes us by
can’t let go no matter how hard we try
you come back again for just one more
then I wonder why as you head back out the door
two different people that’s what you say
but do you ever wonder what if you stayed?
then this craziness would have to end
and we couldn’t keep starting over again
so this is the way things need to be
until the next time you return to me. |

| That is exactly how I am feeling right now about a relationship I was in. The guy comes into my life for a couple days, then disappears for a weeks or two. |
