Feel

As you flash a phony smile and brush everything away
When underneath lies a place where there is cold and hate
Pain and suffering tears at your heart like a jagged little knife
You scream for help but no one hears your desperate pleas
They go unheard, unanswered, unwanted, unloved.
You thrash around for a while
Confused, dazed, blinded by the pain
It burns holes through your eyes, you can’t see
You can’t defend yourself; you lie there defenseless, vulnerable
The heartbreak is unbearable and you cannot numb the pain
People say they understand but how can they
They are not living your life,
You see memories flashing through your mind
You block them out for they are forgotten now
Somehow, you stagger into a room
This room is familiar, it also brings pain
You do not hear the words you want to hear
You sob for endless hours, wishing for things you could not have
You scream again, wondering if anyone is feeling your pain
Blood flowing out of your open veins, a weight is lifted off your chest
One day someone will notice me |
