» Poem: Don't Run |
Don't Run
written by mattwhatever03:46 PM 12/16/04The truth is we’re all lost
Don’t know where we’re going
At what cost
Fulfilling others expectations
Being all that we can
Living up to your self imposed reputation
Achieving your goals
Being a success
Conforming to a social role
What if I don’t have one?
Who am I, where am I going?
I don’t know where to run
So many directions
So many choices
All I hear are contrasting voices
It’s a big world out there
I want to see
Money, success I don’t really care
I just want to know I’ve done my best
What feels right inside?
Fuck the rest
Don’t run, fight for who you are
Embrace life
You’ve made it this far
When you see all the things you want to see
When you know what you need to know
Then you’ll be free
Don’t hide, don’t run
Open your eyes wide
And fight for all your dreams until they come! |
