» Poem: Midwinter's Eve |
Midwinter's Eve
written by Lothiriel07:33 PM 12/16/04Each individual flake falling
Some hurried in the misty air
others fall so lonely, so slowly
against a sky of grey
Yet each not only beautiful,
but perfect in every way
Your smile and laughter
waif as naturally as your eyes are
alight much like the snow
Serene like a first kiss on mid winter's eve
When the sun comes to rest
When the moon sets the view
In the passive pale light
against the snow's glistening white
- forms the beauty that is you
Darkest as the trees may seem
In all the patterns of a winter's scheme
The flakes as they are falling
gather in the view
On the night of a mid winter's eve
- bask in the wonderment that is you
This sky above, illuminated, untroubled
whisper above the snow-trodden tops
As the inner-most darkness comes of a surface
Yet you smile
and the dark shies away
While the flakes remain a-falling
Breath weaves beneath and beyond
Your smile, this night, untroubled
All that matters on this earth
- is this moment she's with you
If ever you should wonder
why the heavens often over-look
When your heart feels as cold and barren
why so many things you mis-took
And if ever you should ponder
what it is maybe you have done
The love inside on this mid winter's eve
will listlessly, blissfully
guide you home to me |
