» Poem: Emotions Intertwined
Emotions Intertwined
written by Lothiriel
07:38 PM 12/16/04
I am tired in every portion and extremity of my being.
I cannot sleep no matter how hard I try;
things just keep circling around my mind
like it's some kind of playground
for the insatiable appetite of my subconscious.

When I dream, I see his face.
When I've woken, he's still before me
yet when I reach out I cannot feel him.
He is but a figment of an imagination
on the verge of breakdown.
Confusion contorts and redefines by morals,
what is right from wrong.

My mind is his playground,
he dances with my thoughts, creating them to his will
he smiles to me with a tenderness
that so swiftly changes in an instant to mirthless estrangement.
He laughs as I cry, he jests as I die
just a little more inside of each dreaming breath.

Yet I sleep on
and when I have come forth to consciousness
he still repents my needs, he will not keep me.
