Beasts of Infidelity
written by Lothiriel07:42 PM 12/16/04Confidentially, lust marks a spot
I’ll cross it if you do,
The invisible line that will inevitably stamp upon us
the reality of morality
To hell with morals, that’s where we will end up in the end
Something that feels so right
is nevertheless wrong in the sense of all that the word stands for
You make these feelings erupt and they can't be helped
The things you do intentionally to attract me
The glint in your eyes
tells me that if I followed your lead it would be all right
to bypass reality to another existence
which precincts precariously on infidelity
So we play this game of hide-and-seek, a charade if you will
Places and spaces where no one cares to know our name
We hide in darkness of a welcome insanity
And tumble through the web of infidelity
- whether yours or mine, we care not
Just to fulfill the need to endure that climatic elation
New pace, new motion
You tell me not to lie
That’s it’s alright to shift into gear, let you get near
But when you say “don’t lie” it’s never staid
because it’s alright to lie
and make any excuse to justify a sudden explosion of lust
If ever there’s a shifty moment in the feelings put out
It would be trust, no doubt
We are selfish
Taking and taking
Openhanded to making the other feel
Unconcerned of what the unknowing souls would feel
If they only knew the beasts that we have become |
