» Poem: Cynical
Cynical
written by Lothiriel

I color pictures of a blended rust
reminding me of how old this all seems
and how I've never really gotten used to it
or how it never seems to change
My memories will someday turn to dust
that fine grain of times long past
well again forgotten
Bitter as I am now
it wasn't always meant to be that way
years of self inflicted doubt
shade in all the spaces that time had forgotten

The age old tale of how no one understands
or will ever be able to piece together the puzzle
of your heart
or the way that you are, and what all it's taken to get you there
And all the hate that intertwines through love
or never knowing if you had loved or hated more
all the times your heart just burns
as much as the tears that stain your eyes
of watching others' who can love so much more than you

Still I sit and color my pictures
that will haunt me eventually
and then continually
as every page is a reminder of thoughts from that day
No one could begin to comprehend
that the hurt in the thoughts was never meant to portray me
