Lonesome for the Masses
written by Lothiriel02:23 AM 12/18/04Side by side
we gather round
Side by side
we all fall down
Holding hands of endless shame
Growing old in forgotten blame
Day by day
I fear the worst
I fall asleep, my eyes but dry
Swollen pools in fear of loneliness
As I awaken naught but shaken
Clearly now I see ahead
I close my eyes and hang my head
Knuckles white
I grab for the warmth of my beloved blanket
A blanket of a lost mother's hand
One supposedly built of love
built of tenderness
I love for so much
so very much
And I'd love too much to feel loved
whilst I let go of my inner turmoil
and learn to love myself again. |
