All That Can Hurt You Will
written by Lothiriel02:32 AM 12/18/04She was born into loneliness
She couldn't possibly conceive
But time wore on and she wore down
So, so low and oh so young
Innocent of her guilt and distraught
For she did not know
that time was so short
and time was so restless
on her side
Lost in a pain given to her
She asked yet did not ask to be alone
She did not ask to be used
She did not ask to be torn into two
A hurt so wicked and vile inside
Yet she smiled
and she did, she smiled
and the sun shone a little lighter
with her laughter and our tears
Life shunned her before she was ever born
For it did not deserve her, we did not deserve her
and this I truly believe
We were too young, too young to see
that time, it kills
But I know why she was taken from me
We learn that all that can hurt you will
and eventually, inevitably you find a way
through your sludge strained mind,
after tragedy strikes and you never know how
to revamp, recap and rewind memories that slowly die
as she did
You will always wonder if maybe you had tried harder
Been smarter and taken the time and taken one's life
and presence
for granted
and the what if's... what if...
She was taken because she was not deserved
You, me or the other three
It wasn't our fault, for there is no fault
She's been gone 7 long years and not a day goes by
that the shining sun doesn't remind me of her laughter
in the short lived times
that she was content with life |
