» Poem: False Belief
False Belief
written by Lothiriel
02:34 AM 12/18/04
Do you believe in destiny, my love?
for fate has turned it's back on me
Far too long now
it has haunted me unfathomable
Seemingly inescapable
I'm hurting myself
I'm hurting you
Faking the blindness furthermore
and hiding beneath fabrications
For I don't want you to see
and I don't want you to know
that I am ashamed
and I can't seem to change

Your laughter cancels out the pain
so I can't let you go
Keeping you close in a world of my own
and distancing you away
because I can't face the reality
that it's over
that I lied to you
that I was never there when I promised I would
And I can't face that you have lost your faith in me
That I'm not all I made myself up to be
I'm hanging onto a hope that all the things we dream and share
and all the songs we sing
All the things that bring us to common ground
will in time bring us closer than we ever though we could be

So I ask
Do you believe in destiny?
Because fate has turned its back to me
