» Poem: Breaking the Monotony
Breaking the Monotony
written by Lothiriel
02:39 AM 12/18/04
Days wear on
Endless, fragile and searching
For what?
We'll never know for certain
if indeed there is a reason
to change the time
that leaks slowly through the drifting fingers
of lesser pasts we've known

The days wear on as such
Through time we seek
unknowingly defeating the odds of indifference
Has this happened before?
The hand s of time retracting and retracing
our every given move
as the creeping feeling of has-beens
drift with us as we lounge about
through the weary days that cease to end
and begin again brand new with each awakening

Time is our lost monotony
Given forth to change that in which
we borrowed from yesterday
Ticking off the chances we make in exchange for tomorrow
Wisping away as each dying breath we take
leaves less chance we'll see it through an eternity
