» Poem: Sabbatical
Sabbatical
written by Lothiriel
01:15 AM 12/20/04
Had one hell of a new life
Had one hell of a new way to think
Slowed down
and it was gone
Before the sun rose
or the new moon could set
Gone.
Like the wintry northern wind in the night
comes then goes before you wake in the dawn
Smooth move, all too sly
Then you hurt inside
'cuz they're not there anymore
to comfort the wounds
or to seal your cries
All calming words are silenced
Secrets once alive with fire go down
There never was a fight
Never a word to protest
Gone.
As the sun sets lower in spring's sixteen year old sky
