waiting for the dead
written by .purity.08:18 PM 12/22/04I was watching as the guy next door
died at the age of ninety-four
Let him close his eyes and drift away
goodbye, good friend, we'll meet again
I was listening for the cries of help
When those trapped couldn't find a way
Those different had to suffocate
As i watched them try to escape
I was watching back in nineteen fourteen
when they needed help they called for me
there was nothing more that i could do
than just sit back and laugh at you
I was waiting when innocent were triald
Though the worst to see was a hanging child
the mother pull down on her feet
to make her death that much more swift
I was watching
I am watching still
I'm waiting for the old and ill |
