Life or something like it
written by Rogue_10102:25 AM 12/23/04My whole body is in pain as I walk down the corridor to the morgue. I know what might be in there and I know what will come. The questions and interrogations. Sympathy that will have no end, just like the pain that is brooding inside me, waiting to escape into the real world.
I look through the window. The doctor beside me nods his head and the nurse pulls back the white sheet. My hearts pounds as she slowly pulls it back. My heart stops as if it had an off button. The face, so cold and white, stares at the ceiling. Her eyes sunken and pale. Her black hair clinging to her face, making it seem gaunter than it was before.
Who would have thought that her face once have a name. Had once smiled to the world. Shows how harsh life can be, how unforgiving death is, and how it can have an effect on the living. |
