Clear
written by Rogue_10106:37 AM 12/24/04Crystal clear is all I see. The ship rocks hard as the waves build higher and higher as we close in on the coast of nowhere. I look around at the dirty; un scrubbed deck and wonder how long it would take for the mates of the ship to clean it. To long I think. The water laps at the like a dog’s thirsty tongue and I feel the sickness rising in my stomach. I hold it down and seek a comfortable position on the wooden deck.
A hand grabs my shoulder from behind and I shudder at the touch. Like ice upon bare skin the hand pulls me around and a rank breath billows on my face. I gag uncontrollably and the sickness wins. The figure in front of me howls in disgust as I hurl what was left of my dinner from the night before, over the already tainted deck.
‘Damn you Crab!’ I bellow after the running figure.
I look down at the thrown up pieces of fish on the floor and I cringe as the smell reaches my nose. The next second it is washed over the side of the deck as a large wave crashes over the edge soaking the floor with salt water and dark old seaweed. |
