Dark Creature

Pondering the reasons why, I stare and seek and search the sky.
My eyes they water, my throat runs dry, I lay there staring petrified.
The wind it comes and claims my breath, before it leaves, it leaves my death.
I stare at the dark blades of the damned, the reaper it reveals its hand.
In it lay suspended in air, my thread of life he held with care.
Its breath rattled as i lay there, its cold and distant nature seemed so bare.
Helpless, yet dignified, i came upon to realize, for truly what this dark creature symbolized.
As i was left so lost and lonely, through my life i was cast so coldly.
Now soon I will cease to be, my peace of mind restored you see.
Then I awoke, darkness stole my gleam, for i quickly realized it was just a dream.
I left for my blanket to dry my eyes, sorrow caused the tears i cried.
For many months I wished i died, But yet the days keep going by.
The days old and weary The nights cold and dim. Tomorrow comes clearly My death will be soon.
The fire is dying. Flames dance in my eyes. My jacket is drying Ghosts seem to loom.
My life it comes flashing. My thoughts they are shown. My anger comes lashing, The Reaper brings doom.
For once I am happy. For once I don't dwell. My life's old and raspy Told under the moon.
Things we know haunt us. Things we don't dwell. To care is to much fuss It's like a cold and dark room.
Soon I'll be leaving. Soon I'll be gone. No one will be mourning, For my death will be soon. |
