The Day I met my Papreclip
written by CemetaryDrive11:57 PM 12/24/04Long ago, in a far away land, there lived a lonely maiden. She sat at her computer sighing sigh after exasperated sigh. Why have I no paperclip? she asked the gods. My sister has a cat and my brother has a wizard, but I, have nothing. A single tear fell to the floor. You see, everyone in her family had their own computer, but hers, alas, did not have Microsoft Word. Wherefore art thou, fair paperclip? Suddenly a cool breeze blew in, carrying with it a little man. The maiden stepped closer to take a look. He appeared to be a little wizard, just like her brothers, dressed entirely in blue. Hello, he said. I am the great and wonderful Wizard Lebeo. I come from the land of Windows xp. How may I be of service? he took a deep and graceful bow. Oh sir! the maiden cried. I want more than anything to have a paperclip of my own! the wizard looked astonished. Well don't you have a computer? he asked. The maiden gestured sadly at her computer. But I have no Microsoft Word. She almost cried. The wizards face went into an expression of shock. What tragedy! You truly are in dire need of a paperclip! I guess Ill just have to summon one. He quickly scurried over to the window and, putting two fingers to his mouth, and let out a shrill whistle. The maiden was anxious and excited and just a little bit confused. It took a minute, but then they could see something in the distance. Before she knew it, a paperclip man had flown in on a folded paper airplane and landed on the maidens floor. This, Wizard Lebeo said gesturing to the paperclip, is Paperclip Man. And this, he said, now gesturing to the lovely, lovely maiden, is what is your name? My name is Renae. The wizard smiled. This is Renae. Now you to get to know each other and Ill be going. Buh-bye! with that he waved, twirled his wand, and disappeared. Renae and Paperclip Man have been best friends ever since. |
